@greeting(Dear Professor Brinch-Hansen)
While Ira Goldstein is well known in artificial intelligence, I must
confess that I have not been following his work in sufficient detail
to make useful comments about it. This should not be taken as an
implied criticism; I have often had to return to work that I ignored
when it first appeared. Ordinarily, I would take this inquiry as an
occasion to read his recent papers, but I am too swamped with other work.

Sincerely,
John McCarthy
